InkMasters has a broad-based membership, indigenous and non-indigenous, of professional, emerging and new artists. We are a not-for-profit, volunteer organization located in a remote area of northern Australia.
We provide access to printmaking and allied arts to artists at all levels, and engage the wider community with this distinctive form of artistic expression. We aim to generate awareness of the print as a primary form of visual art and to facilitate the social and transformative experience of art within our community .
We are an innovative and dynamic organization with a strong track record. We have produced four biennial multi-event InkFests including the huge juried international InkMasters Print Exhibition with sponsored prizes of $15000 in 2018. InkFest also delivers the BIG PRINT and other community events such as bus tours to studios, artist’s forums, artists-in-residence and other print related happenings.
InkMasters has participated in international print conferences, hosted several artists-in-residence and delivered many skills-based workshops even though we only obtained our new workshop in 1 July 17. Individual InkMasters exhibit regularly at home and abroad in solo and group shows. While the majority of our activities are self-funded, we are grateful for the backing of private and government entities and individuals who have provided such generous financial and in-kind support since our inception. Our members are to be commended for their continued committment to the organization.
Wherever you are in the world, you are invited to enter the InkMasters Biennial Print Exhibition, and if at all possible, to join us at the next InkFest!
